The Cost of Clarity: How Power Silences the True Meaning of Feminism

If one sees closely the core intention of all types of domination, that is undoubtedly “Power”. The reason why marginalized voices remain marginalized is Power. To hold this power, terms are always being misinterpreted by those who dominate and snatch other’s voices to keep their own.

If we carefully look through the word “feminism”, it will be more clear. The core intention of feminism is to acknowledge women as human beings. But now, it is interpreted in a way that even women, who want their normal rights, cannot enlighten them by the light of feminism. Sometimes, they hesitate to utter the word and try to replace them by other words that will not hurt the ear of those who are in power.

The more you know about these, the clearer you can see the societal picture which will cause you inner burden. Especially in a patriarchal society, if you understand these terms, you understand what is wrong and right, you will suffer the most. People will understand that you are right, sometimes they acknowledge it and sometimes not, but still you are the one, whose voice is being taken away just because of some other’s insecurity.
